Well, it is almost time for that first assessment.  If you are anything like the vast majority of us then you should be getting a bit nervous about now.  However, most of what you are feeling is just fear of the unknown.  With this in mind let’s take a look at what exactly is involved in the coming assessments.

Each assessment will last between 4 and 5 minutes.  Unit 101 will be internally assessed by your tutor.  Units 102 and 103 are different in that they are sent to Signature to be externally assessed.

The assessments are designed to test your sign language skills in the following areas:

       101- Is an Introduction to BSL

       102- Is Conversational BSL

       103- Is BSL in the school, college or workplace

You will enter the assessment room where the tutor is already present. There will be a camcorder to record the assessment, just ignore it.
